Carlex Participates in Monroe County Back to School Bash

Local automotive glass plant donates almost 1,000 notebooks, benefitting Monroe County students

VONORE, Tenn. (August 8, 2017) – Carlex Glass America LLC, a premier global Tier 1 supplier of original equipment and automotive replacement glass with operations in Vonore, Tennessee, recently donated over 800 notebooks for the Monroe County Back to School Bash held at Madisonville Primary School.

“We firmly believe every student should start the school year with new supplies. Today’s tough economic conditions make it challenging for some parents to meet their children’s needs without assistance. We appreciate the opportunity to help alleviate those challenges for parents in our community,” said Michael McNulty, Plant Manager for Carlex Vonore.

Participating in the Monroe County Back to School Bash is just one way in which Carlex contributes to the Vonore community. Carlex has been recognized as the largest employee contributor for United Way of Monroe County, and was named Business of the Year by the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.

“At Carlex, our people give back. That’s the kind of culture we aim to foster and the kind of people we strive to be. As one of the largest employers in Vonore, there’s a lot of opportunity to get involved in our community and make a real impact,” McNulty added.
